First 19 – watched A Christmas Carol live round the streets of York

19th December – okay, so this is getting a bit repetitive, but inspired by the last post, I bought a ticket for a play which started and ended at the pub, and in between looped round the gilt-tipped cobbles of York. Brilliant acting, and perfect location. Spent the interval chatting with a couple from Indonesia who hadn’t heard of Charles Dickens and were still waiting for the carols to start. Luckily they were enjoying it anyway.

Marks: 9/10 for atmosphere and the fact that I got to wear a top hat. One point lost for the fact that it bucketed with rain all evening.

I turned 50 in June and have decided to write about some of the new experiences that happen to me over the next 12 months, not in a show-off way, but to remind myself (and any others that access this) that new experiences happen in all shapes and sizes. I suppose I'm looking at ways to remind myself of the positives. I'm also hoping this will spark off taking steps in a few different directions - what, I don't yet know.
